History
Johnny Fuller - guitarist and vocalist, has played blues, punk, funk, rock, soul, pop & jazz in a wide variety of bands.
Cutting his teeth playing Rock and Blues in the seventies he was lead guitarist with the west-country’s first punk rock band, Adrenalin, fronted by Ian Roberts, later to be renowned as a contemporary blues singer with the Crowmen, Nightporters & Weathermongers. Joined by Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny and Theatre of Hate), Johnny moved on to pursue different kinds of sounds with other line-ups, including The Cane and Pack of Lies. A stint with west London new wave band Ack Ack was followed by time in Los Angeles working with a wide range of musicians including Jeffrey Lee Pierce (Gun Club). Back in London Johnny hooked up with Boy George O’Dowd and was a founding member of Culture Club. Another venture with Kirk Brandon and Theatre of Hate followed. After taking a break from the music industry in the late eighties, Johnny was involved during the last decade with a number of funky R&B, blues and pop based projects including The Groove, The Cherry Pickers, The Q’s, Memphis and Blue Groove In recent years Johnny has been busy with numerous corporate functions, weddings and parties, plus various club dates. He continues to pursue his artistic goals, including writing original material.
Jack Brand is our bassist and the only member of the band to have appeared on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Jack was the bassist with Meal Ticket who, according to the NME, was the only British group to approach the standards set by the best American Country Rock acts. Meal Ticket also featured the legendary Steve Simpson and Ray Flacke Ray is one of the most sought after session players in Nashville. The band released three albums, toured with Ry Cooder and Bob Seger and did countless live shows, radio and TV. Jack has played with among others, Linda Rondstat, Roger Chapman (Family) Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix) and Geoff Whitehorn (Elkie Brooks & Procol Harum). He came to Devon after many years gigging with London’s top musicians doing hundreds of live shows and sessions. From Muscle Shoals southern soul to pure funk and Motown Jack keeps the bottom end solid with his bass and vocals, he’s the foundation we build our sound on.
Tim Peirce - Tim also plays with Ted Barnes and has worked with members of Portishead. He was the recipient of a Diesel Urban Music Award in 2004. He is an outstanding drummer and percussionist in demand as a session player. Tim has a broad range of studio experience both behind the drum kit and in the control room as a producer and engineer.
